All cabinets in the data center have been custom designed, are lockable, have two 20amp power feeds and contain 45U of server space. With the ability to scale to 80amps of power the site allows for maximum space utilization and the ability to fill the cabinets with up to 40 web servers.
Our technical philosophy is simple; if you're serious about your business you need to use the best equipment. But even the best equipment can fail, so we also ensure that every system is redundant - in other words if it breaks there's a standby already in place.
Reliable
Take our server hard drives as an example of how thorough we are. We start by using SCSI drives, they are very expensive and carry much less data than regular hard drives (so we get fewer sites per server) but they are also way more reliable and give better performance than regular drives. On the servers we arrange them in a RAID5 array, which means we simultaneously write your data to three or more identical drives. If a drive fails we can replace it and restore the data without any interruption of service.
Thorough
You can see on this page how well we take care of your data, but it doesn't stop there. Comprehensive backup systems ensure the maximum safety for your site. Nightly backups of everything are made on to a special backup server, also with a redundant RAID disk array. Once a week we make a further backup to a remote location, just in case. It's all designed to minimize the damage if the worst does happen, and keep your business running smoothly.
The servers we use are Dell PowerEdge 2850 machines, with lightning fast dual Intel Xeon processors. This model was chosen by the editors of PC Magazine as the "best of the year" in December 2004 for the Enterprise Server class and is an ideal combination of performance and reliability.
